Kaziranga acknowledged as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985, includes a significant influx of migrated birds and possesses a steady population of some exciting mammals.
The world visits Kaziranga to take a close look at the famous one-horned rhinos. Yes, the grassland is renowned for being a favourite destination of One-Horned-Rhino, and it is estimated that more than 70 per cent of this species is found here in the park. Besides, the complex ecological balance of the vast greenery allows many comfortable abodes. Harbouring more than 60% of Wild buffaloes in India, the forest is also known for Indian Bison, Elephants, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Hoolock Gibbon, Sambar, Sloth Bear and Capped Langur. Leopard Cat, Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Hog Badger, and Jackal are among the most important predators. While Goose, Hornbill, Ibis, Egret, Cormorants, Heron and Fishing Eagle are prime feathered species.
The lush vegetation of Kaziranga acquires an area of 470km2, mostly flood plains fed by the Brahmaputra, the mighty river. Visitors often confirm that the place offers maximum visual pleasure as it is well designed with various types of plants.
Generously proportioned, this park comprises an enthralling setting filled with wide and tall grasslands with canes combined, joining streams, open woodlands, and waters flowing at frequent intervals.
